Wolf Alice - exclusive performance

Hyundai Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’ Series

With a moving performance of Heavenward, Wolf Alice feature the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’ Series, co-created with the independent music platform, Boiler Room. The film was shot in Shoreditch Town Hall, where their music video for 'Yuk Foo' was filmed earlier this year.

The four-piece alternative rock band from North London initially formed as an acoustic duo between Ellie Rowsell and Joff Oddie in 2010. The band has experimented with different sounds since its formation, adding electric elements and band members Theo Ellis and Joel Amey.

Wolf Alice have been shortlisted for the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize for their album 'Vision of a Life'. This is the band's second studio album and was released in September 2017 on Dirty Hit. The album has been described as an "exuberant tapestry of swirling pop, grunge and indie guitar rock" and features the singles ‘Don’t Delete the Kisses’ ‘Beautifully Unconventional’ and ‘Heavenward’.

"Each song is almost like a diary entry of that period of time, where you see yourself and what you were like in the past."

Keep an eye out for more exclusive interviews and performances from some of the Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlist. The Award Show will be held at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on Thursday, 20 September 2018.
